A Very Raddison Day

View from the Raddison hotel room during a trip to Philly in 2006. I went to Philly twice that year, once in the summer and once in the winter. Both times it was cold, rainy and foggy. Go figure…

St. Mark's Door

While in Philly for a company shin-dig back in 2006, I found some time to scout the area with my trusty camera. This is one of the many photos I took of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, which appears to have quite the following on Flickr. The door is actually red. Very red. This rendition is a bit more rustic, methinks.

While out in a light rain I ran into another photographer. I found him standing in the street during a red light, photographing something on the ground. He had this huge lens with lens hood; I had the little factory lens that came with my camera. Yeah, it was one of “those” moments. :) But he didn’t seem to notice me, so all is well.

View from Window

A couple of years ago when I was employed by mega-company, we had a division training in Philadelphia. It was the first time I’d been there since I was a kid in school visiting for a history class field trip. Thankfully there was enough time between meetings, meals and drinking binges (of my colleagues) for me to steal some photographic opportunities.

This particular photo was taken from my hotel room window. I really enjoyed that trip, and seeing Philly. Now that I’m self-employed, I don’t imagine ‘the company’ will be hosting any trainings at the Raddison in Philly any time soon, so photos like this are a nice reminder of another time.
